How do you ensure the dogs get along?

At Collar Club Doggy Day Care, your dog’s safety and comfort are our top priority. We follow a thorough assessment process to ensure every dog is suited to the daycare environment and matched with the right play group.

Each new pup starts with a registration process and assessment day, where our experienced pack leaders observe their behaviour, confidence levels, play style, and social interactions. Dogs are then carefully grouped according to factors such as size, age, temperament, and energy levels to create balanced and positive pack dynamics.

Our team is trained in dog behaviour and body language, allowing us to monitor interactions throughout the day and step in early if needed. We also structure the day with supervised socialisation, rest periods, and lead work to help maintain calm, happy, and well-balanced dogs.

This careful approach helps us create a safe, fun, and stress-free environment where dogs can socialise, play, and thrive.

Are dogs supervised at all times?

Yes — dogs at Collar Club Doggy Day Care are supervised throughout the entire day by our trained pack leaders.

Our team is experienced in dog behaviour and pack management, allowing us to carefully monitor play, social interactions, rest times, and overall wellbeing at all times. Dogs are never simply left to “figure it out” on their own — our staff are actively involved in managing the pack, maintaining calm energy, and ensuring safe and positive interactions between all pups.

We also structure the day to include supervised socialisation, midday rest periods, and afternoon lead work and obedience sessions, helping dogs stay balanced, stimulated, and comfortable throughout their stay.

Your pup’s safety, comfort, and happiness will always be our top priority.

Can I visit the daycare centre?

Absolutely! We encourage owners to come visit Collar Club Doggy Day Care and see the environment for themselves.

We know how important it is to feel comfortable and confident about where your pup is spending their day, so we’re always happy to show you around our facility, explain our daily structure, and answer any questions you may have.

During your visit, you’ll be able to see our indoor and outdoor play areas, rest spaces, and the safe, structured environment we’ve created for dogs of all ages and personalities. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet our team and learn more about how we manage social groups, supervision, and enrichment throughout the day.

We do recommend arranging a visit in advance so we can make sure a team member is available to give you the best possible experience.

Do you provide an ad hoc service?

You are free to add additional days as you like as long as your dog is registered & has been through the initial Meet & Greet process.

Do you accept puppies & small dogs?

Yes we accept puppies from 12 weeks old as long as your vet has given the go ahead. We have a separate area dedicated to puppies and small dogs to ensure they are safe and not overwhelmed by larger dogs.

Do you have overnight facilities for boarding?

Yes, The Collar Club offers boarding, please refer to our Boarding Service page for more information.

Do you have indoor facilities when it is cold or raining?

Yes, Collar Club Doggy Day Care is fully equipped for all weather conditions, including cold, rainy winter days and hot Cape Town summers.

We have both indoor and outdoor facilities to ensure the dogs remain safe, comfortable, and entertained no matter the weather. During colder or rainy days, pups have access to warm indoor areas with comfortable resting spaces, heaters, blankets, and supervised indoor socialisation.

On warmer days, we also provide cooling options such as shaded areas, misters, sprinklers, and pools to keep everyone happy and comfortable.

Our goal is to make sure every dog enjoys a safe, stimulating, and comfortable environment all year round.
