Going on holiday? Why not treat your dog to one as well? Our friendly and attentive team will do everything possible to ensure The Collar Club feels like a home away from home for your pup. Whether you need to board your dog for an overnight stay, for the weekend, a holiday or extended care, your dog will spend their days enjoying supervised open play with their BFFFs, and their nights enjoying restful sleep.

Dogs boarding with us will enjoy a staycation, burning off any excess energy during a full day of play with our daycare dogs. Dogs are separated into supervised play camps depending on size, play style and temperament, ensuring the comfort and safety of all our guests. They’ll enjoy 8-10 hours of open play that features brain games designed to improve manners and behaviour.  There will also be plenty of time for naps and breaks, should they require them. If your dog is having lunch, he/she will be fed at the start of naptime and will have plenty of time to digest their food before they are allowed to play again. This private time is also when we administer any medications, if applicable.

During naptime, the staff also thoroughly cleans each play camps to ensure the area is safe and clean before another exciting round of afternoon play!

After a full day of exercise and fun, your pup will be tired but happy when they go to bed. They sleep in our home-style cabin with their pack leader in the same room, so they feel safe and comfortable.

Prepare Your Dog For Boarding

Our boarding facilities are fully equipped to handle dogs of all shapes and sizes. We encourage you to bring your fur baby to our daycare prior to an overnight or extended stay. We recommend at least one day of daycare prior to your dog’s overnight stay – three days of daycare is ideal – to allow your pup to get used to the facility and have a better overall experience. Your dog will become comfortable with our staff, and learn that you will be coming back to bring them home. It will also give our staff an opportunity to learn your pup’s personality and play preferences.

We ask that you arrive with your dog before 8 a.m. on the day they are to begin boarding. Dogs may be dropped off as early as we open.

What to Expect After Boarding

After an exciting boarding stay at The Collar Club, it’s important to ensure your dog adapts well to being back home. While at The Collar Club, your dog received access to unlimited water in their play area. However, it is still likely they will seem very thirsty upon returning home. This is a common reaction to the excitement of being back at home with their family. Please withhold water from them for the first 30 minutes that they are home. After they have calmed down from the excitement of being home, you should then give them a small bowl of water and continue to monitor their water consumption for the next few hours. Dogs that drink too much water too quickly may lead to vomiting, or in very serious cases, could lead to bloat.

We recommend waiting at least three hours from the time you arrive home to offer their next feeding. Again, they will be very happy to be home and quite excited. Similar to the side effects of drinking water too quickly, eating too quickly may cause illness.

The Collar Club is a very active environment, with the dogs interacting for several hours per day. Even if your dog did not run all day, simply being awake can make them very, very tired. At home, most dogs sleep the day away getting 18 or more hours of sleep. Although we have a two-hour nap, and the dogs sleep approximately eight hours per night, they will be tired.

Please let them rest. We do not recommend that you take them to the dog park or any other social environment for at least a few days.
